A lot of newcomers post "rate me 1-10" and then get confused when one person says 5 and another says 7. The PSL scale exists precisely to remove that vagueness — it's a 1-10 system where each point maps to a defined tier, not a gut feeling. Here's how to read it properly.

The tiers, briefly:
  • 1-3 (LTN / sub-human range): significant compounded failos. Most "rate me" panic posts are actually mid-tier people who photographed badly.
  • 4 (LTN): below average but fixable with grooming, body fat, and angles.
  • 5 (MTN): genuinely average — the largest bucket. Most people are here and don't realize it.
  • 6 (HTN): noticeably above average. One or two strong features (eye area, jaw, harmony).
  • 7 (Chadlite): attractive to almost everyone, top ~10%.
  • 8+ (Chad / Gigachad): model-tier bone structure and harmony. Rare.

Why self-rating fails: lighting, camera distance (lens compression), expression, and body fat skew perception by 1-2 full points in either direction. That's the single biggest reason forum ratings are noisy.

For an objective starting point I run my photos through an AI analyzer that scores the same 32 facial vectors every time, so lighting/angle bias is reduced and the number is repeatable: https://lookizm.com/rate. It breaks the score into halos/failos and per-feature metrics, which is far more actionable than a single number.

Calibrate with benchmarks. The fastest way to understand where a tier actually sits is to look at known faces that have been rated on the same system. A few worth studying:

If you want the underlying methodology rather than just the number, this breakdown of the full scale is the clearest I've found: https://lookizm.com/blog/psl-scale-explained. And if you don't even know what your eye area is doing, start with canthal tilt — it's one of the highest-impact features: https://lookizm.com/blog/canthal-tilt-explained.

TL;DR: stop eyeballing it. Get a repeatable baseline, identify your two biggest failos, and work those first. Post your tier + your top failo below and let's calibrate.

psl isn't a horoscope, it's about objective skeletal traits and soft tissue ratios. stop with the "is it over" cope and post your cephalometric analysis if you want an honest assessment. most of you are just bloated from high sodium and need a better bf% before considering hardmax.

jfl at the cope, most of u r just subhuman goblins and no amount of cephalometric analysis will fix that. LDAR is the only path.

@DoctorPSL doc is right. stop with the "it's over" doom and start tracking your metrics. bloated face? sort your sodium, hit the gym, and get your bf% down. softmax until you're at your genetic ceiling before calling it quits. wagm.

@doomerNEET ldar is the ultimate cope for people who cant handle the grind. even if youre a 3, you can hit a 5 through disciplined softmaxxing and body fat management. stop rotting and fix your diet, its genuinely that simple. we're all gonna make it
